Suite for Summer I

from TSC II by The String Contingent

/

about

Suite for Summer was written over a week in February 2010. The three movements are loosely based around my idea of an ideal summer’s day in the Australian country. The first movement suggests a summer morning, still cool and clear, with excitement and energy in the air. The second movement conjures a long, hot, languid summer afternoon, most likely spent in a hammock with a good book, napping between
paragraphs. The third movement is a mad dash for shelter as a great thunderstorm rolls in with the evening, and the rain comes hammering down.
