I have always been particularly interested in the dynamic between musicians: how we communicate and interact with each other, both on and off stage. To my mind this piece is reminiscent of one type of decent conversation – focusing on a small number of simple ideas and then allowing them to develop. Different things, ideas and statements can have so many different meanings to so many people, and Talk is about the various types of communication that go on around us, some verbal and some not, some subtle and some overt.
