Tangerine Tendu was written by Holly to combine a serene piano solo for Catherine Strutt with a strathspey-style melody for Chris Duncan. As Catherine is synaesthetic, this piece has ‘a definite orangey-yellow’ or tangerine hue for her, while a tendu is a stretched or held dance movement reflecting the ostinato held throughout the piece. Chris Stone wrote the following Scots-style reel The Tartan-Trewed Highwheeler for Chris Duncan (an avid penny-farthing cycling enthusiast) after a discussion about what makes a great reel. It is also the perfect vehicle for Catherine’s signature foot-stomping accompaniment!
