about

Jimmy woke suddenly in the night, and thought he heard a sound… drifting back to sleep, he heard it again! The sound was joined by another, and a pattern started to emerge… he crept to the window, and looked out into the moonlit night. A mob of kangaroos hopped softly through the front garden, heading out into the paddock. Curious, Jimmy left the house quietly and followed. The roos were gathering in the middle of the paddock, around something large… something dark… something huge… a giant Kangaroo, the size of a 4-story house! In its paw, it held a bright star, reflected in the eyes of a hundred roos. The giant Roo began to wind up for a big throw, and the roos scattered. With a mighty effort, it tossed the shooting star deep into the sky, and Jimmy watched it sail on, on, on, up, up, up… and woke with the sun streaming through his bedroom window.

The sounds on the recording were made by hitting the sculpture with a plastic ladle, then editing them into a backing track that we play along with.
